Ruth Asawa Collection - Blue Orb Necklace
Inspired by Ruth Asawa’s iconic looped wire sculptures, this pendant translates her suspended forms into a wearable meditation on space, structure, and light. Concentric arcs in layered blue—ranging from sky to deep indigo—nest inside a cast bronze frame, echoing the rhythm and repetition of Asawa’s hanging works. 
 
The C+L Asawa Collection was created to accompany the Ruth Asawa Retrospective at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and only a limited number will be available outside of the SFMOMA Museum Store.

  • Clouds + Ladders jewelry is handmade in Kate Joseph's solar-powered studio set in a redwood forest north of San Francisco. Each piece may show differences in color or texture, which should be considered a part of what makes owning a piece of handmade jewelry special and unique. Jewelry Care

Ready to ship jewelry will be mailed within 3-5 days of purchase. Due to the handmade process and filling all orders on a first-come, first-served basis, some orders may take 2-3 weeks. Due to the handmade nature of Clouds + Ladders Jewelry, most issues are resolved by exchanging for a different item or providing a store credit. Please use the Contact page if you have any questions or concerns, and someone will respond ASAP.

Handmade brass and cast bronze frames filled with artists' grade polymer clay. Surgical steel/nickel -free posts. Each earring has a drop of resin on the back to prevent metal touching the ears of people with sensitive skin.

Remove your jewelry before using any perfume, lotion, hair products, etc. Store your jewelry in a closed container with an anti-tarnish square. The anti-tarnish square should be replaced every 3-4 months - you can reuse the desiccant packs that are found in new shoes, dried fruit, etc. Brass naturally darkens as it ages. By following the above recommendations, you’ll keep it looking shinier for longer. While many people prefer the aged look, if you want to restore the original luster, use a polishing cloth to shine the metal parts.  If you notice residue on the colorful areas, you can clean them with a small amount of nail polish remover on a q-tip or cotton ball. ​ Jewelry care kits are available for purchase HERE.
